Syria Says Gas Pipeline at Deir Ali Power Station Resumes After Islamic State Attack

CAIRO (Reuters) — The gas pipeline at the Deir Ali power station has returned to operation after completion of repairs, the Syrian Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday, according to Syrian state TV.
Islamic State earlier claimed responsibility for an attack on a gas pipeline at the Deir Ali power station, according to a statement published on Saturday on its affiliated Telegram channels.
Syria's electricity minister said the attack had led to an electricity outage that hit the capital Damascus, its outskirts and other areas.
