Construction Begins on Oil Pipeline Project in Nigeria

China Harbour Engineering Ltd. and Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd. have started construction on a 100-kilometer subsea pipeline that will connect to Dangote Oil Refining Co. Ltd.’s new 650,000 bpd refinery being built in southwestern Nigeria’s Lekki Free Trade Zone.

The scope of work consists of the transportation and installation of six 24-inch pipelines and three 48-inch pipelines, along with five single point mooring systems, a catenary anchor leg mooring buoy, and a pipeline end manifold for a shuttle tanker that imports crude for the refinery.

The project is expected to be operational by September 2019.
