Pipe Spring announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued patent U.S. Patent No. 10830383 titled Augmentation of Mechanical Properties of High-Pressure Pipe, marking the second patent related to pipelines for inventor and Pipe Spring CEO Shawn Laughlin. The product improves the mechanical integrity of pipeline infrastructure, resulting in enhanced safety and environmental protection while reducing costs to operators, Pipe Spring said.

Dresser Natural Gas Solutions (Dresser NGS), a provider of measurement, instrumentation and piping solutions to the natural gas distribution and transmissions markets, has acquired Flow Safe, a manufacturer of spring-operated and pilot-operated high performance pressure relief devices. Dresser NGS said it acquired the entire Flow Safe business, including 38 employees and two locations in Orchard Park, N.Y., and Houston. The Flow Safe product line will focus on applications in natural gas distribution, pipeline, aerospace, marine, industrial gases and other liquid and gas process applications.

Pickering Energy Partners (PEP), a Houston-based energy investment management and consulting firm, announced the launch of a formalized energy consulting practice. PEP’s consulting business will be led by Dan Pickering and Walker Moody, the long-time leaders of the business, and Chris Micsak (Director) and will be supported by a cross-functional team of dedicated consultants, private equity professionals and research analysts. 

The downstream IT solutions provider Implico Group and the digital transformation and IT consultancy Minsait, an Indra company, have formed a partnership to guide and support digitization at oil and gas companies in Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula and Italy.
