FERC Approves Sabal Trail’s $3.2 Billion Gas Pipeline

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in the US has issued a certificate of public convenience and necessity to Sabal Trail Transmission’s $3.2 billion interstate natural gas pipeline project. Sabal Trail Transmission is a joint venture between Spectra Energy Partners, NextEra Energy and Duke Energy. The approval will allow the company to construct and operate the Sabal Trail gas pipeline project and further authorities it to proceed with final preparations to commence construction soon. “We are very pleased to reach this significant milestone and move one step closer to construction of the pipeline.” The pipeline is expected to be in-service by May 1, 2017.
