Millennium Touts Completion Of Minisink Compressor Station

Millennium Pipeline Co.’s Minisink Compressor Station is now moving natural gas across the Northeast. On May 15 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granted Millennium’s request for authorization to start service at the site which took eight months to construct. The compressor station and maintenance building occupy only four acres of a 70-acre rural parcel in the town of Minisink, NY. The rest of the site serves as buffer for nearby neighbors. Buildings were designed to minimize sounds that will be heard at the nearest properties. More than 100 evergreen trees were planted to buffer the site.
