Baker Hughes Wins 5-Year Petrobras Turbine Services Deal for Offshore Operations

Baker Hughes has secured an agreement with Petrobras to service critical gas turbines supporting offshore production and refining operations across Brazil.

(P&GJ) — Baker Hughes has secured a long-term service agreement with Petrobras to support critical turbomachinery equipment used across Brazil’s offshore production network and refining operations.

The 5-year contract covers maintenance, repair and engineering advisory services for up to 64 aeroderivative gas turbines installed across offshore assets and at a major refinery, supporting production continuity and system reliability.

The turbines are deployed across approximately 19 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels in Brazil’s offshore sector, as well as the Replan refinery in São Paulo. These assets play a key role in sustaining energy output from Petrobras’ operations.

Work under the agreement began in February and will be carried out from Baker Hughes’ service center in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. The company said it plans to expand the facility’s capabilities, including adding advanced grinding services to support turbine maintenance and improve operational reliability.

“This strategic agreement reinforces our long-standing relationship with Petrobras and our enduring commitment to Brazil’s energy sector,” said Baker Hughes Chief Growth and Experience Officer and interim Executive Vice President of Industrial & Energy Technology Maria Claudia Borras. “Our advanced service solutions, delivered through our local service center, can help improve the reliability and operational efficiency Petrobras needs across its offshore and refining operations while strengthening its energy supply chain.”

The agreement follows a competitive tender process and reflects continued investment in maintaining critical infrastructure tied to offshore production and downstream operations in Brazil.

Baker Hughes said the expanded service capabilities will also support local supply chain development and employment as part of its long-term presence in the country.
