ATCO Advances 146-Mile Yellowhead Natural Gas Pipeline
One of Alberta's newest pipeline proposals is entering a key phase as the developer prepares for construction and seeks stakeholder feedback.
(P&GJ) — ATCO Energy Systems is advancing plans for the proposed Yellowhead Pipeline, a 235-kilometer (146-mile) natural gas transmission project intended to support growing energy demand across Alberta.
The company said construction could begin this fall, pending approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission. The pipeline is designed to enhance natural gas transportation capacity while supporting industrial development and future energy needs in the province.
As part of the regulatory process, ATCO is holding a series of community open houses along the proposed route to provide project information and gather public feedback. The sessions will allow residents, landowners and stakeholders to learn more about construction plans, project timing and potential community impacts.
ATCO said the Yellowhead Pipeline is expected to play a role in supporting Alberta's long-term energy infrastructure requirements while helping accommodate economic growth across the region.
Additional information on the project and public consultation process is available through ATCO's Yellowhead Pipeline project website.
