Pipeline integrity entrepreneur Mark Olson has launched a new venture to commercialize pipeline isolation and intervention technology for gas and liquid operators.
(P&GJ) — Pipeline integrity entrepreneur Mark Olson has launched a new venture focused on commercializing pipeline isolation and intervention technology designed to help operators perform maintenance, repairs and construction work with less operational disruption.
Olson is leading a group of investors and industry professionals in the acquisition of a startup specializing in smart plugging technology for liquid and natural gas pipelines. The company plans to provide isolation solutions that allow operators to safely perform repairs, maintenance and construction activities while keeping pipeline downtime to a minimum.
The venture marks Olson's latest move in the pipeline sector after more than three decades in energy infrastructure technology. Olson previously founded Cornerstone Pipeline Inspection Group and later ENTEGRA, a pipeline integrity services company acquired by NDT Global in 2025.
"We see a real need in the market for technologies that help operators complete maintenance and improvement projects more effectively and safely," Olson said.
He added that the company is assembling a leadership team with experience in pipeline operations, integrity and maintenance as it prepares to bring the technology to market.
The company has not yet announced its name or leadership lineup. Additional details on management, commercialization plans and future operations are expected in the coming months.
