David C. Carroll, GTI president and CEO, was named president of the International Gas Union (IGU) for a three-year term at the closing ceremony of the June World Gas Conference (WGC) in Paris. With members from 91 countries representing 97% of the world’s natural gas industry, IGU’s mission is to advocate for gas as an integral part of a sustainable global energy system, and to promote the political, technical and economic progress of the gas industry. The organization’s home office, or Secretariat, is in Oslo, Norway.

ASTM International Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems honored Jim Craig, a consultant in Broken Arrow, OK, with the Award of Merit and its accompanying title of fellow. Craig’s contributions have led to the development of several internationally recognized standards that have enhanced the reliability, durability and safety of plastics in piping systems.

The Pipeliners Association of Houston ended its year by voting in new officers and announcing it had raising about $600,000 for scholarships. In all, 93 scholarships awarded brings the Pipeliners total to about $6 million.

Serving the association in the coming year will be Grady Bell, president, of Laney Directional Drilling; Doug Doyle, vice president, of Safetek Services; Alexis Arthur, treasurer, of Williams; Patrick Lamb, secretary, STS Consulting Services; and Brandy Roberts, assistant secretary, of Blackwater Diving.

Additionally, J.W. Gully, president of Sunbelt Equipment Marketing, was chosen as Pipeliner of the Year.

Personnel Changes

Enable Midstream Partners, LP announced that Lynn Bourdon has submitted his resignation from the company and also stepped down from his positions as president and CEO of Enable GP. The board of directors of Enable Midstream’s general partner, Enable GP, LLC, named Scott Prochazka chairman of Enable GP’s board and appointed board member Pete Delaney interim president and CEO.

Laurent Vivier was named president of Total’s gas division.

Crestwood Equity Partners LP and Crestwood Midstream Partners LP announced several senior management promotions. Additionally, a new Pipeline Services Group and Supply and Logistics Group was formed. Heath Deneke, formerly president of the Natural Gas Business Unit, was promoted to COO and head of the Pipeline Services Group. Bill Gautreaux, formerly president of the Liquids & Crude Business Unit, was promoted to chief marketing officer and head of the Supply and Logistics Group.

Dominion Resources Inc. named Keith Windle general manager of Dominion Carolina Gas Transmission. Windle will be based in Columbia and oversee 120 employees at Dominion Carolina Gas Transmission.

Chip Mitchell joined CH2M as president of the Oil, Gas & Chemicals Business Group.

At its 2015 meeting of stockholders, Willbros Group Inc. re-elected Michael C. Lebens and Phil D. Wedemeyer as Class I directors to its board.

DNV GL Group appointed Tor Svensen as group executive vice president. Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen will succeed Svensen as CEO of the Maritime business. Both will report to incoming Group President and CEO Remi Eriksen.

Bruce Barkley joined Piedmont Natural gas as vice president – Regulatory Affairs, Rates and Gas Cost Accounting. David Carpenter, currently vice president – Regulatory Affairs, was named vice president – Regulatory Policy until his planned retirement on Dec. 31.

Pacific Gas and Electric Co. promoted John C. Higgins to vice president, Gas Transmission and Distribution Operations; Aaron J. Johnson to vice president, Customer Energy Solutions and Mary K. King vice president, Human Resources.

Corey Rogers rejoined Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas, Inc. as marketing manager. He is based at North American headquarters in Norcross, GA.

MESA, headquartered in Tulsa, OK and two-time winner of the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award has expanded its North American operations in Canada with a new office in Edmonton. MESA has partnered with Edmonton-based HDIM Protective Coatings to market the CorroLogic™ group of Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VpCI®) technology systems. MESA is the exclusive supplier/installer of VpCI® systems for aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), casings and corrosion under insulation (CUI) in Canada and the U.S. The office is at 14538-121A Ave., Edmonton, AB, Canada.

EN Engineering announced the launch of a new partnership in which General Atlantic will acquire a majority stake in the company from CIVC Partners. As part of the transaction, CIVC and company management will continue to be shareholders going forward.

Tom Ziegenfuss, president and CEO of EN Engineering, called the partnership a “natural fit that will not only help us expand, but also improve our ability to meet our clients’ needs.”

Peter Munzig, a principal at General Atlantic, will join the company’s board of directors.

Bryan Melan, former Pipeline Integrity Subject Matter Expert for Marathon Oil Company and Marathon Oil UK Ltd. announced the formation of Tide Water Integrity Services LLC operating from Houston. Melan has 35 years’ experience in the construction, operation, maintenance, inspection, and integrity management of hazardous liquid, NGL, and gas pipelines.

H&E Equipment Services Inc. opened a new office at 1115 Newton Way, Summerville, SC 29483.

Koch Pipeline Company, L.P. donated one-third mile of steel pipe to the Heavy Equipment Operations & Maintenance program at Central Lakes College (CLC). Students will use the 18-inch pipe to build a simulated right-of-way on school property and practice hands-on pipeline construction and maintenance.

Stress Engineering Services, Inc. launched Stress Engineering and Construction, Inc. (SE&C) as a wholly owned subsidiary to offer engineering, procurement and construction services to downstream and midstream markets.

Netherlands-based IRM Systems has a new base of operations at 118 Vintage Park Boulevard, Suite W., Houston, TX 77070. Danny Ling is general manager – The Americas for IRM Systems.

G2 Integrated Solutions has acquired NRG Technologies. NRG President, Mike Gloven, joined G2’s senior management team.

McElroy added Morain Sales & Service as a partner to serve as a rental house offering a full line of polypropylene pipe fusion products. The Mineral Ridge, OH-based company will rent fusion tools and accessories primarily to McElroy’s polypropylene distributors in the U.S.

Willbros Group, Inc. finalized the sale of its downstream engineering organization to a group led by Bernhard Capital Partners. As of the close, the company will remain based in Baton Rouge, LA and will operate as Wink Engineering, LLC.

Voith Turbo opened new headquarters for the Power, Oil & Gas Division for the Americas at 11700 Katy Freeway Energy Tower, Suite 250, Houston, TX 77079.

American Energy – Midstream, LLC is changing its name to Traverse Midstream Partners LLC and transitioning to a standalone company, fully independent of the broader American Energy Partners, LP platform. Traverse has been capitalized by a $500 million equity commitment provided by The Energy & Minerals Group (EMG), and additional equity provided by Aubrey McClendon and other members of AELP management and affiliated parties of McClendon.

The ITW Welding Technology Center will host the second annual Welding, Heating & Cutting Technology Conference in Houston, TX on Aug. 26-27, 2015. This free event will feature educational seminars, panel discussions, live demonstrations, facility tours and networking opportunities aimed at discovering ways to generate greater profitability and improved operational efficiencies.
