Millennium Pipeline Begins $43 Million Minisink Compressor Project

Millennium Pipeline Co. L.L.C. received Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval to construct its Minisink Compressor project.

“After a long and intensive review process, we are deeply gratified to be able to move into construction with this important project which will help deliver additional clean energy to the Northeast,” said Millennium President Rocco D’Allessandro. The project will increase deliverability to the eastern end of the pipeline to 675,000 Dth/d by compressing the gas using two 6,130 horsepower natural gas turbine-driven centrifugal compressors. This type of expansion is ideal because it allows Millennium to customize its services to meet customer needs without installing additional miles of pipeline.

Construction of the $43 million project began in October. At the peak of construction it will employ more than 75 people, many from local labor unions.
