INNIO, Rehlko Sign 1.25 GW Natural Gas Engine Agreement for Data Center, Power Demand
INNIO and Rehlko have secured 1.25 GW of natural gas engine capacity to support surging data center and flexible power demand. The multi-year agreement highlights growing reliance on gas-fired generation for grid stability and backup power.
(P&GJ) — INNIO Group and Rehlko have signed a multi-year framework agreement securing 1.25 GW of natural gas engine capacity to support growing demand from data centers and flexible power generation.
The agreement expands Rehlko’s existing firm reservation of 700 MW and provides allocation over the next three years. The capacity is expected to support projects across key global markets, particularly as data center development accelerates and demand for dispatchable, gas-fired generation increases.
Rehlko will deliver the projects through Clarke Energy, its engineering and lifecycle solutions platform, which supports a global installed base exceeding 10 GW.
The deal reflects rising interest in gas engine solutions for grid stability and backup power, particularly in regions facing rapid load growth tied to hyperscale and colocation data center expansion. Developers are increasingly turning to flexible generation assets to complement intermittent renewable supply and maintain reliability.
The agreement also provides longer-term supply visibility for customers amid tightening equipment availability and sustained demand for distributed energy systems.
