NSMP Receives First Gas from Shell’s Victory Field via 145-Mile Pipeline

North Sea Midstream Partners has received first gas from Shell’s Victory field, with production transported through the 145-mile SIRGE pipeline into the FUKA system and processed at St Fergus, boosting UK energy security.

(P&GJ) — North Sea Midstream Partners (NSMP) has received first gas from Shell’s Victory field, marking the first new gas development West of Shetland since 2017.

Gas from the Victory field is flowing through NSMP’s 234-kilometer (145-mile) Shetland Islands Regional Gas Export (SIRGE) pipeline into the Frigg UK Association (FUKA) pipeline. The FUKA system, one of the UK’s largest subsea gas transportation assets, can carry up to 36 million cubic meters of gas per day.

The gas is delivered to the St Fergus Gas Terminal in northeast Scotland, where it is processed before entering the UK’s energy network. The Victory project is the first new field to supply St Fergus since the Martin Linge development in 2021.

“I congratulate Shell on delivering an exemplary project and first gas from the Victory field,” said Angela Fletcher, CEO of NSMP. “NMSP’s infrastructure delivers high reliability and availability for all of our customers. We are delighted to support Shell in supplying gas to meet the UK’s demand.”

Fletcher added that “home-grown gas production is a national asset underpinning energy security and economic growth. Critical projects like Victory enable the oil and gas industry to reduce the UK’s reliance on imported LNG, while safeguarding UK jobs and communities.”
