The future is bright for welding. That was the message conveyed to more than 100 Wisconsin high school counselors, educators and administrators at a recent symposium on welding careers in Neenah. WI. The event was sponsored by Miller Electric Manufacturing Co., Airgas, Miron Construction and AZCO Inc.

Projects

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) have signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the Abu Dhabi crude oil pipeline project in the United Arab Emirates.
Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has awarded Petrofac an engineering, procurement and construction services contract for a 140-km gas pipeline to link KOC’s Booster Station 131 in north Kuwait to its LPG plant at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery.
Sakhalin Energy marked the start of year-round oil export from its new oil export terminal at Aniva Bay in the south of Sakhalin Island that forms part of the Prigorodnoye port. The first cargo is oil from Molikpaq, Sakhalin Energy’s first platform, but the Piltun-Astokhskoye-B platform will soon begin sending oil into the system. Gas condensate from the third platform in the Lunskoye gas field will boost production.
