Ned Marine Launches Drone, ROV Pipeline Inspection Services

Ned Marine launched drone and subsea ROV inspection services designed to speed up non-destructive testing and reduce downtime for offshore, marine and industrial infrastructure assets.

(P&GJ) — Dutch inspection company Ned Marine has expanded its non-destructive testing capabilities with new drone and remotely operated vehicle (ROV) inspection services aimed at offshore, marine and industrial infrastructure assets.

The company said the new services are designed to improve inspection efficiency while reducing downtime and limiting worker exposure to hazardous environments.

The aerial drone systems will be used for visual inspections and ultrasonic thickness measurements in hard-to-access areas, including ballast tanks, cargo holds, offshore wind structures and industrial facilities.

Ned Marine said the technology can reduce inspection times significantly compared with traditional methods that rely on scaffolding, rope access or diving operations.

The company also introduced subsea ROV inspection services capable of operating at depths up to 300 meters (984 feet). The systems are designed to support hull inspections, cathodic protection assessments, structural monitoring and pre-docking surveys.

Leo Zwagemaker, commercial manager at Ned Marine, said integrating drone and ROV technology into the company’s inspection portfolio is intended to help clients reduce operational downtime and improve maintenance planning through faster access to inspection data.

The new services are being integrated into Ned Marine’s broader NDT operations, which include visual testing, ultrasonic thickness measurements and digital inspection reporting for offshore and industrial assets across Europe.
