Delfin Signs New 20-Year LNG Supply Deal with Gunvor
Delfin Midstream has signed a new 20-year LNG supply agreement with Gunvor, adding long-term offtake support for its offshore Louisiana LNG export project.
(P&GJ) — Delfin Midstream has signed another long-term LNG supply agreement tied to its offshore Louisiana export project, adding further commercial support for the company’s floating LNG development plans.
Under the agreement, Gunvor International B.V. will purchase 0.3 million metric tons per year (MMtpy) of LNG from the Delfin FLNG1 facility over a 20-year period. The LNG will be supplied on a free-on-board basis from the offshore facility located about 40 nautical miles off the Louisiana coast.
The deal is the latest in a series of long-term supply agreements supporting Delfin’s Deepwater Port LNG Export Facility, which is designed to use floating LNG vessels connected to existing offshore pipeline infrastructure.
Kalpesh Patel, co-head of LNG trading at Gunvor, said the agreement expands the company’s LNG supply portfolio and strengthens its ability to supply global markets.
Delfin CEO Dudley Poston said the additional contract supports continued development of the company’s LNG infrastructure strategy in the Gulf Coast region.
Delfin’s export project is designed to support up to three floating LNG vessels with combined production capacity of as much as 13.2 MMtpy. The company previously acquired the UTOS offshore pipeline system and has received federal approvals for long-term LNG exports to non-free trade agreement countries.
