Kelton Wins Multi-Year Contract to Audit North Sea Pipeline System
Kelton has secured a multi-year contract to provide independent flow measurement and calibration audits for a North Sea pipeline system, continuing its long-standing role overseeing offshore and terminal measurement standards.
(P&GJ) — Kelton has secured a multi-year contract to provide independent flow measurement and auditing services for a major North Sea pipeline system.
Under the six-figure agreement, Kelton will act as third-party authority for calibration witnessing, measurement system audits and mismeasurement reviews across the offshore pipeline entrance and associated onshore terminal facilities in northern Scotland.
The contract continues Kelton’s long-standing involvement with the system. The company previously supported the pipeline from the 1990s through the early 2010s and again from 2023 to 2025.
Kelton said the scope will be managed by consultants who have led delivery of the work since 2023, providing continuity in oversight of the system’s measurement standards.
Kelton COO Stuart Christie said the award reinforces the company’s commitment to the region.
“Despite changes in domestic policy, Kelton continues to be committed to the North Sea. While production has progressed beyond the highs of previous eras, we are here to help maximise current production and the established infrastructure within the region.
Although this is a revised contract, this is the third occasion on which we have supported the system. Over time, we have demonstrated how our services and expertise have evolved to meet the changing needs of the client and industry.
When we first worked on the pipeline system in the 1990s, it was known as a proving ground because of its scale, complexity of differing systems and processes, and the demand of the terminal point. This has never once deterred our team, and with each new contract, we have gone above and beyond to demonstrate our credentials and provide in-depth and unrivalled feedback and actionable results to improve the system. We expect that through this latest contract, we will maintain this record.”
Kelton, which marks its 35th anniversary this year, provides independent flow measurement consultancy services to the oil and gas sector, supporting operators with compliance, auditing and system assurance.
