Adriatic LNG Launches 2026 Open Season for Regasification Capacity

Adriatic LNG has launched its 2026 auction for long-term LNG regasification capacity, offering terminal access from 2029 through 2051 as operators compete for future import capacity in Italy.

(P&GJ) — Adriatic LNG has opened its 2026 annual subscription process for long-term LNG regasification capacity, offering access to terminal services from January 2029 through December 2051.

The auction process will be conducted in two phases. A non-binding accreditation period for interested operators opened July 9 and runs through Sept. 14, followed by a binding bidding phase from Sept. 17 through Sept. 30.

The terminal operator is offering available regasification capacity under its 2026 capacity program, with bidding conducted through its online auction portal. Interested participants must complete accreditation requirements, including submitting a declaration of interest, supporting documentation and a €250,000 ($293,000) bid bond or equivalent security.

Operators that successfully complete the accreditation process will be eligible to participate in the binding auction sessions, where long-term capacity rights will be awarded in accordance with Adriatic LNG's auction rules and regasification code.

The company said the available capacity reflects the terminal's operational capabilities, maintenance schedule, storage and send-out limits, and available pipeline capacity at the Cavarzere entry point. Capacity authorized under Italy's March 2025 interministerial decree for non-constant regasification services is not included in the offering.

Adriatic LNG said detailed information, including the auction calendar, product catalog and participation requirements, is available through the company's 2026 subscription documentation.
