PipeSense Enters Chile, Peru with Pipeline Monitoring Partnership

Pipeline monitoring firm PipeSense is expanding into South America through a new partnership in Chile and Peru, marking its first international deployment of leak detection technology.

(P&GJ) — PipeSense is expanding its pipeline leak detection and monitoring services into South America following an exclusive agent agreement with Chile-based FastPack, marking the company’s first operational move outside North America.

PipeSense solutions will be utilized to support the mining, oil, gas, and utilities markets in Chile and Peru.

Under the agreement, FastPack will represent PipeSense’s leak detection, pig tracking and hydrotesting technologies in Chile and Peru, serving oil, gas, utilities and mining operators. FastPack provides transportation, fluid handling and asset integrity solutions to heavy industry across the region.

The partnership follows PipeSense’s receipt of an initial contract to supply its PipeGuard leak detection system to a mining-related pipeline project in Peru in early 2026. The deployment will support one of the region’s largest producers of metals and precious minerals and represents PipeSense’s first project in South America and its first engagement with mining operations.

PipeSense said the expansion reflects growing demand for pipeline monitoring technologies in regions where leaks can lead to environmental damage, operational disruptions and production losses, particularly in water and slurry pipeline systems used by mining operators.

FastPack’s agreement also gives the firm access to PipeSense’s catalog of technologies used on oil, refined product, natural gas and water pipelines in North America since PipeSense entered the market in late 2023.

Josh Holmes, vice president of business development at PipeSense, said the challenges facing pipeline operators are consistent across regions.

“Pipeline inefficiencies and operational challenges aren’t unique to North America. Many of the issues we work to solve in the U.S.—from aging infrastructure to the potential for human error—are realities faced by operators around the world,” Holmes said. “Through our work with U.S. oil, gas, and utilities companies, we’ve seen firsthand how PipeGuard and our PipeServ service solutions help operators avoid wasting days chasing false positives and prevent small leaks from escalating into major events.”

Holmes added that the company’s expansion follows sustained growth in its U.S. business and recent team additions.

“After a period of sustained growth and several new appointments to our team, we are ready to take our support international—starting with this project in South America and through our new partnership with FastPack —as we look ahead to an exciting 2026.”

PipeSense said the South American agreement follows a similar agency arrangement to distribute its technologies in Canada, as the company targets broader international growth.
