Haynesville NG3 Project Expansion Boosts Gillis Gas Treating Capacity

Expansion work at the Gillis Treating Plant is set to lift gas processing capacity for Momentum Midstream’s NG3 project, strengthening Haynesville takeaway to Gulf Coast markets.

(P&GJ) — Evers & Sons Inc. has completed a series of upgrades at the Gillis Treating Plant in Louisiana, increasing processing capacity at a key facility supporting Momentum Midstream’s NG3 project.

The Gillis facility was originally designed to process about 1.7 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas and includes treating, dehydration, compression and utility systems that move Haynesville Shale production to Gulf Coast markets.

To accommodate rising inlet volumes, Evers & Sons added compression and upgraded both carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide treating systems. Once fully commissioned, the expanded plant is expected to process roughly 2.2 to 2.3 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas.

The treating upgrades are designed to properly condition CO₂ streams ahead of compression and sequestration, supporting stable operations as throughput increases. Work completed to date includes major equipment installations, system tie-ins, structural integration, and ongoing electrical and instrumentation activities.

The expansion is now in its final stages, with full completion targeted for late 2025 to early 2026.
