DT Midstream Names CEO David Slater Executive Chairman

DT Midstream has elevated CEO David Slater to executive chairman and appointed COO Christopher Zona as president in a leadership transition effective Jan. 28.

(P&GJ) — DT Midstream Inc. has named Chief Executive Officer David Slater executive chairman of its board of directors, effective Jan. 28, 2026.

Slater succeeds Robert Skaggs Jr., who will remain on the board. Slater has served as DT Midstream’s president and CEO since May 2021 and joined the board shortly after the company’s spin-off from DTE Energy Company.

Slater has more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, with a background spanning commercial development and operations. Prior to the spin-off, he served as president and chief operating officer of DTE Energy’s midstream business and was a member of DTE Energy’s executive leadership team beginning in 2015.

In a related leadership move, the board appointed Christopher Zona, DT Midstream’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, as president, effective Jan. 28. Zona will continue to serve as COO.

Zona has held the COO role since the company’s spin-off and brings more than three decades of experience across operations, engineering, construction and business development. Since 2019, he has also served as executive vice president of DTE Energy’s midstream business.

DT Midstream owns, operates and develops natural gas interstate and intrastate pipelines, storage and gathering systems, compression, treatment and surface facilities across the Southern, Northeastern and Midwestern United States and Canada.
