(P&GJ) — U.S. natural gas inventories increased by 36 Bcf for the week ending March 27, according to data released April 2 by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Total working gas in storage rose to 1,865 Bcf, up from 1,829 Bcf the previous week. Storage levels are 96 Bcf higher than the same period last year and 54 Bcf above the five-year average.
Regionally, the South Central posted the largest increase, with a 34 Bcf build, including gains in both salt and nonsalt storage. The Mountain and Pacific regions also reported modest increases, while the East and Midwest saw slight declines.
At current levels, U.S. gas storage remains within the five-year historical range, indicating relatively balanced supply conditions heading into the spring injection season.
