Orlen Says Aramco Oil Supplies Hold Steady Despite Iran War Disruptions

Poland’s Orlen says Saudi Aramco oil deliveries remain stable, even as shipments are rerouted through the Red Sea amid disruptions tied to the Iran conflict.

(Reuters) — Oil deliveries from Saudi Aramco to Orlen are on schedule and in line with contracted volumes despite supply disruption from the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, Poland's top oil refiner and retailer told Reuters on April 28.

The Polish company said it sees no grounds for changes in supplies from Aramco planned for May.

Saudi Aramco has been using the Red Sea port of Yanbu to export crude oil after the war restricted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Orlen is supplied via the port, Polish officials said.

Some 40% of the oil processed by Orlen is supplied by Saudi Aramco. The Polish company processed 39.6 million metric tons of oil last year.

Orlen also said it was prepared to supply contracted volumes of jet fuel during the seasonal peak in production and demand from aviation that runs from May to September.

"Orlen flexibly manages its supply chain and production schedules, ensuring it is prepared to fulfill all existing contracts and secure supplies during periods of increased demand," a company spokesman said in an email in response to a Reuters query.

European airlines have warned that the Iran war could trigger jet fuel shortages, as Europe relies on the Middle East for about 75% of its jet fuel imports.
