GTT Wins LNG Tank Design Order for China Liquefaction Plant

GTT will design a 10,000 cubic meter LNG storage tank for a liquefaction plant in China, marking a first for its membrane technology in onshore LNG applications.

(P&GJ) — GTT has been awarded a contract to design a 10,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tank for a liquefaction plant in Shaanxi Province, China.

The tank will be built at the Yangjiawan LNG facility in Yan’an and will use GTT’s membrane containment technology. The project marks the first time the company’s membrane system will be applied to an onshore LNG liquefaction plant.

The design is intended to improve thermal performance and reduce energy loss compared with conventional storage systems, while also incorporating monitoring features to enhance operational safety.

The tank is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2027.
