Baker Hughes Wins Gas Compression Order for Argentina LNG Pipeline
Baker Hughes will supply gas turbines and compressors for a pipeline project in Argentina, supporting Vaca Muerta gas flows to LNG export facilities.
(P&GJ) — Baker Hughes has secured an order to supply gas compression equipment for a natural gas pipeline project in Argentina, supporting the movement of Vaca Muerta gas to LNG export infrastructure.
The company will provide three NovaLT 16 gas turbines and three centrifugal compressors, along with related services, for installation at a compressor station in Río Negro province. The equipment will help move natural gas from the Vaca Muerta shale to the Gulf of San Matias, where it will supply feed gas to floating LNG facilities.
Baker Hughes said the project marks the first deployment of its NovaLT turbine technology in South America and reflects growing demand for efficient compression equipment tied to LNG development.
Maria Claudia Borras, the company’s chief growth officer, said the award highlights demand for infrastructure that supports reliable gas supply and access to global LNG markets.
