Global Outlook Sees 549 New Oil and Gas Pipelines by 2030

A new global outlook projects 549 oil and gas pipelines will start operations by 2030, including 402 gas lines, 73 oil pipelines, 53 product pipelines, and 21 NGL pipelines.

(P&GJ) — A new outlook projects 549 oil and gas transmission pipelines will begin operations worldwide between 2025 and 2030, led by natural gas projects.

According to Research and Markets, the bulk of development will come from 402 gas pipelines, alongside 73 oil pipelines, 53 product pipelines, and 21 NGL pipelines. Rising energy demand and efforts to strengthen energy security are driving the build-out.

The report, New Build Oil and Gas Transmission Pipelines Projects Outlook to 2030, details project counts by region, type, and stage of development, as well as cost outlooks for major new builds. It also highlights specific large-scale pipelines scheduled to come online in the second half of the decade.
