Cardinal Midstream Expands Delaware Basin Gathering, Processing Operations
Cardinal Midstream Partners completed 36 miles of new gas gathering pipelines and announced a 220 MMcf/d expansion at its Pecos River Processing Complex, strengthening its Delaware Basin footprint.
(P&GJ) — Cardinal Midstream Partners has expanded its Delaware Basin operations with the completion of 36 miles of new large-diameter natural gas gathering pipelines in Eddy County, New Mexico, and Loving County, Texas.
The Dallas-based midstream company said the project includes both high- and low-pressure pipelines, bringing its total operated network in the Delaware Basin to nearly 150 miles of natural gas infrastructure.
Cardinal also announced a major expansion of its Pecos River Processing Complex in Loving County. The project, set for completion in early 2026, will add 220 MMcf/d of processing capacity, increasing the facility’s total to 360 MMcf/d, with room for additional growth as demand rises.
“The Delaware Basin continues to see unprecedented growth with production expected to increase for years to come,” said Doug Dormer, Chief Executive Officer of Cardinal Midstream Partners. “These significant expansion projects provide high-quality energy infrastructure that ensures reliable midstream services for our customers’ future development.”
Cardinal has steadily expanded its Delaware Basin presence since acquiring Medallion Midstream’s regional gathering and processing assets in 2023. The company has since executed multiple pipeline and compressor station projects to serve producers across one of the most active oil and gas basins in the U.S.
