Venture Global Signs 20-Year LNG Supply Deal with Spain’s Naturgy
Venture Global signed a 20-year agreement with Spain’s Naturgy to supply 1 MMtpy of U.S. LNG starting in 2030, marking Spain’s first long-term American LNG deal since 2018.
(P&GJ) — Venture Global has signed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Spain’s Naturgy for the supply of 1 million tons per year (MMtpy) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) starting in 2030, the companies said on Nov. 10.
The deal marks Spain’s first long-term LNG contract with a U.S. supplier since 2018, when Venture Global signed its initial agreement with a Spanish company. To date, Venture Global has delivered 35 LNG cargoes to Spain from its Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines export facilities in Louisiana.
“Venture Global is honored to expand our long-term partnership with Spain through this new agreement with Naturgy, a leading global LNG company,” said Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global. “This contract will positively impact the U.S. balance of trade with Spain and enhance energy security across the region.”
The company said the new deal is part of strong commercial momentum this year, with Venture Global signing 5.75 MMtpy of long-term LNG contracts in 2025 to date.
Venture Global, based in Arlington, Virginia, operates LNG export terminals in Louisiana and is developing more than 100 MTPA of capacity in production, construction, or development. Its projects include Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG, as well as planned carbon capture and storage systems at each site.
