PipeSense Marks Two Years, Grows U.S. Leak-Detection Projects and Team
PipeSense celebrated two years in operation with added U.S. deployments of its PipeTest, PipeScan and PipeGuard technologies and new hires to support growth.
(P&GJ) — Pipeline services firm PipeSense marked its second anniversary, citing new leak-detection and monitoring deployments since late 2023 and added staff to support growth across U.S. midstream and utilities operations.
The Houston-based company said its technology portfolio—PipeTest (pressure testing), PipeScan (obstruction location) and PipeGuard (leak detection)—has been applied this year to common midstream issues such as hydrate plugs and farm taps. PipeSense said its systems detect anomalies, leaks, obstructions and stuck pigs to improve maintenance planning for operators.
As part of its expansion, PipeSense appointed Joseph Ma (senior data scientist), Li Gao (chief scientific advisor), David Green (project manager) and Larry Sims (business development manager for the South and Southeast). The company said these hires build on earlier additions that doubled headcount in 2025.
PipeSense named Chief Data Scientist Ding Chen the inaugural recipient of its R.I.S.E. Award for contributions to data analytics and machine-learning capabilities. The company also appears in a forthcoming PBS episode of All Access with Andy Garcia alongside parent company Charps, highlighting pipeline integrity methods and technologies.
“It’s great to celebrate our second anniversary alongside the wider Charps team and our clients and supporters. It’s important to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished so far. While we are proud of everything we have achieved to date, we recognize that there is no time to slow down. PipeSense was established to end false positives and raise the standards for pipeline maintenance and integrity. We’ve made a promising start, particularly in the U.S., but we're an ambitious company, and we know the work is only getting started. Thankfully, we believe we have the technology and people to execute our goals.” — Stuart Mitchell, president and CTO.
PipeSense said it recently hosted a client event in Houston to mark the milestone.
