Harvest Midstream Closes $1 Billion Rockies Deal with MPLX, Expands Gas Network

Harvest Midstream last month completed its $1 billion acquisition of MPLX’s Rockies gas gathering and processing assets in Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, adding more than 1,500 miles of pipelines and 845 million cubic feet per day of capacity.

HOUSTON (P&GJ) — Last month, Harvest Midstream completed its previously announced $1 billion acquisition from MPLX LP, expanding its natural gas gathering and processing footprint across the Uinta and Green River basins in Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado, the company said on Nov. 13.

The deal adds more than 1,500 miles of gathering pipelines and 845 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity, strengthening Harvest’s position as one of the largest privately held midstream operators in the United States.

“This deal is about growth through action,” said Jason C. Rebrook, Harvest CEO. “We are expanding where it matters most — in the heart of America’s energy production — and continuing to deliver results through disciplined execution and operational excellence.”

The Uinta Basin assets include about 700 miles of gas gathering pipelines and 345 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity at the Ironhorse and Stagecoach facilities, with further expansion underway. The Green River Basin system features 800 miles of pipelines, 500 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity at the Blacks Fork and Vermilion plants, and 10,000 bpd of fractionation capacity.

Harvest will operate the acquired systems and said it plans to maintain reliable service for existing customers while pursuing future growth across key U.S. basins.
