Eni Signs 10-Year LNG Supply Deal with Türkiye’s BOTAŞ Starting 2028

Eni has signed a 10-year LNG supply deal with Türkiye’s BOTAŞ, its first long-term agreement with the country. Starting in 2028, Eni will deliver 0.4 MMtpy of LNG annually as it targets 20 MMtpy in global capacity by 2030.

MILAN (P&GJ) — Eni has signed a 10-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Türkiye’s state-owned energy company BOTAŞ, marking its first long-term LNG sale to the country.

Under the deal, Eni will supply 0.4 million tonnes per year (MMtpy) of LNG beginning in 2028, following an earlier three-year contract signed in September 2025 for similar annual volumes starting in November 2025.

The long-term agreement strengthens Eni’s foothold in the Eastern Mediterranean and supports Türkiye’s growing reliance on LNG to meet rising domestic demand and diversify import sources.

“The agreement aligns with Eni’s strategy to build a diversified global portfolio and secure multi-year relationships in key international markets,” the company said.

Eni aims to expand its global LNG portfolio to around 20 MMtpy by 2030, leveraging projects in Congo, Mozambique, the U.S., Indonesia, and other regions.

The company said the BOTAŞ deal underscores its commitment to growing in markets with strong energy demand potential while providing reliable gas supply to emerging importers.
