Commonwealth LNG Taps Technip Energies for Louisiana Export Project

Commonwealth LNG has awarded Technip Energies the EPC contract for its 9.5-Mtpa export project in Louisiana, targeting first production by 2029.

(P&GJ) — Commonwealth LNG has selected Technip Energies to handle engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work for its 9.5-million-ton-per-year liquefied natural gas export facility planned in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Technip Energies, which previously completed front-end engineering and design for the project, will use its modular construction approach to reduce costs and streamline the schedule.

“We are excited to continue working alongside Technip Energies as we build our state-of-the-art LNG export facility, a cornerstone of our integrated LNG strategy,” said Ben Dell, managing partner of Kimmeridge and chairman of Commonwealth. “Technip Energies has been a valuable partner to Commonwealth, shares our commitment to operational excellence and will support our targeted production date of 2029.”

Farhad Ahrabi, Commonwealth’s president and CEO, said the modular approach will ensure “certainty of outcome on both cost and schedule for all our stakeholders.”

Technip Energies CEO Arnaud Pieton called the project “pivotal in enhancing global energy security” and said the company would apply its SnapLNG modular design to deliver the facility.

Commonwealth expects a final investment decision in the second half of 2025, with first LNG production targeted for 2029.
