Thailand Pipeline Contract Awarded to Shawcor

Shawcor wins contract to provide pipe coating services for the Fifth Transmission pipeline construction project in Thailand.

Shawcor Ltd. has been awarded a contract from Marubeni-Itochu Tubulars Asia Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc., to provide internal lining and three layer polyethylene anti-corrosion pipeline coatings for the Fifth Transmission Pipeline Project in Thailand.

The Fifth Transmission Pipeline will run through eight provinces in Thailand and be built to reduce risks to electrical power security and ease the delivery of gas from the LNG Terminal in Rayong, Thailand to the country’s western region.

Construction is expected to start in Q4 2017 and to be completed by Q4 2018.
