SwRI

Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) was awarded two contracts, totaling $1.2 million, from the U.S. Department of Energy to advance turbine technology for power plants.

SwRI will develop a supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2), coal syngas or natural gas-fired oxy-fuel turbine. It will also develop a modular, combined-cycle power system.

Both projects should be completed in December 2019.
