New Venue, Speakers for Pipeline Conference
Due to the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Harvey, the 14th annual Pipeline Opportunities Conference has been relocated from the Omni Galleria hotel to the Westin Galleria Hotel, according to conference director Karen Francis.
Francis said both the April 3 date of the conference and the April 2 speakers’ dinner have not been changed.
The conference is produced by Pipeline & Gas Journal, a Gulf Publishing Co. publication. In addition to a large number of paid sponsors, the conference is co-sponsored by the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), the Association of Oil Pipe Lines (AOPL) and the Maguire Energy Institute at SMU’s Cox School of Business.
400-500 attendees representing pipeline interests throughout North America, will hear the latest and most accurate information available concerning key factors driving the oil and gas pipeline construction business.
With that in mind, a session popular with attendees is a midstream update featuring speakers from Brazos Midstream, Courtney McShane, director of business development for Willbros, and a third company to be named shortly.
Another session also directly linked to successful construction activities will concentrate on “Building Utility/Contractor Relationships that Excel.” Gretchen Gagel, president of Continuum Advisory Group, will moderate a panel of gas utility and contractor executives who will share their experiences related to creating long-term relationships that achieve outstanding results related to safety, budget, schedule and quality. Cheryl Campbell, vice president of Gas, Excel Energy, and Jeff Tuttle, CEO of Heath Consultants, have been confirmed as two of the four panelists.
Pipeline construction continues to face opposition in many parts of the U.S. and Canada. Developing a winning strategy will be the topic of keynote speaker John Davies, CEO of Davies Public Affairs. Davies is considered an expert in understanding human behavior.
For the fourth consecutive year the conference will lead off with a panel discussion by the McGuire Energy Institute, including Executive Director Bruce Bullock, Associate Director Bud Weinstein, board member and independent producer Gary Evans, and Prof. Joe Dancy.
Other speakers include Paul Moran, an energy consultant with Navigant, who will offer a perspective on new construction opportunities; Don Santa, president and CEO, Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), who’s Washington Report will explain political and legislative developments that affect the industry.
