Tennessee Gas Pipelines Northeast Energy Direct Project

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. (TGP), a subsidiary of Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P., proposes the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Northeast Energy Direct Project to upgrade its pipeline system in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut. The project is a combination of TGP’s proposed Pennsylvania to Wright, NY and Wright to Dracut, MA projects.

The Pennsylvania to Wright portion includes construction of 117 miles of pipeline from the existing TGP line in Susquehanna County, PA northeast to the existing TGP line in Schoharie County, NY. The project includes 23-mile and 28-mile loops along the existing TGP line in Bradford and Susquehanna counties in Pennsylvania.

This will include the upgrade of a compressor station in Susquehanna County and construction of two stations, one in Delaware County, NY and one in Schoharie County.

The proposed Wright, NY to Dracut, MA segment would result in construction of 50 miles of pipeline co- located with TGP’s existing system and 129 miles of greenfield pipeline, additional meter stations and compressor stations and modifications to existing facilities in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Hampshire.

The Northeast Energy Direct Project would meet increased demand in the Northeast for transportation capacity for natural gas. The project is could in service by late 2018 so that the additional gas supplies are available for the heating season.
