Han Fennema Appointed CEO Of Gasunie

J.J. (Han) Fennema has been appointed to the Executive Board of N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie. He will assume the position of CEO and chairman of the Executive Board on March 1.

Han Fennema, 49, has had various management positions within the energy sector, among others at ExxonMobil and Eneco (member of the Executive Board). He is chairman of the Executive Board of infrastructure company Enexis. In addition to his position at Enexis he is president of the trade association Netbeheer Nederland, a position he has held since 2011.

The Gasunie Executive Board now consists of Geert Graaf, Han Fennema and René Oudejans (CFO). Geert Graaf was acting CEO until Jan. and has indicated that he plans to leave Gasunie to focus on a new path in his career. He held many different positions within the company.

Rinse de Jong, chairman of the Supervisory Board, said: “The search for a CEO was a process that we undertook carefully and with due consideration. We have found in Han Fennema an experienced director who has earned his position in the energy world and who can further strengthen the leading position of Gasunie as a European infrastructure company.”
