Baker Hughes Opens Facility In Australia

Baker Hughes opened a new facility in Welshpool to meet growing demand and increased oilfield activity in Australia. Three of the company’s service lines – pumping services, tubular services, and process and pipeline services – are now housed in the 340,000-square-foot site.

Major growth prompted the company to expand its presence and increase personnel nearly fourfold in the past three years. Earlier this year, Chevron Pty Ltd awarded Baker Hughes a contract to provide pipeline pre-commissioning services on the Gorgon Project off the Northwest Shelf of Australia. Work has begun and is scheduled for completion in 2013.
