Meghna PVC Expands Corrosion Management Program with Jotun
Meghna PVC Limited is implementing a long-term corrosion management program with Jotun aimed at improving steel integrity and reducing infrastructure risk at its Bangladesh facility.
(P&GJ) — Meghna PVC Limited is implementing a long-term corrosion management program with Jotun aimed at improving steel integrity and reducing maintenance risks across its industrial operations in Bangladesh.
The initiative focuses on proactive monitoring and maintenance of steel structures and pipe support systems operating in highly corrosive chemical-processing environments, where deterioration can create operational and safety risks.
Under the agreement, Jotun is providing its AssetKeeper corrosion management system, which includes facility assessments, maintenance planning and coating recommendations intended to improve long-term asset reliability.
Jotun Bangladesh Managing Director Sunny Gwee said the program is designed to help operators identify corrosion risks earlier and prioritize maintenance before failures occur.
Meghna PVC said the system provides a more structured approach to maintenance planning and long-term facility protection. The company also committed to annual condition assessments to monitor coating performance and guide future repair strategies.
The maintenance scope covers steel infrastructure and pipe-holding systems throughout the manufacturing complex.
Meghna Group of Industries operates more than 57 industrial units across Bangladesh, while Meghna PVC is the country’s only producer of PVC and PET materials.
Jotun said proactive corrosion management is becoming increasingly important as aging industrial infrastructure and steel replacement costs continue rising globally.
