Eni Secures LNG Offtake Deals for Indonesia Projects
Eni signed long-term LNG supply agreements tied to its Indonesia gas projects, adding about 2 million tons per year to its growing global LNG portfolio and supporting expanded use of existing export infrastructure.
(P&GJ) — Eni has signed a series of long-term agreements tied to liquefied natural gas production in Indonesia, adding roughly 2 million metric tons per year (MMtpy) to its global LNG supply portfolio.
The agreements cover LNG volumes from the company’s South Hub and North Hub gas developments in the Kutei Basin, where Eni holds operating stakes averaging more than 80%. Supply volumes will move through the existing Bontang LNG facility in East Kalimantan, including the restart of an LNG train that has been idle for several years.
The Italian energy company said the additional supply supports its goal of exceeding 20 MMtpy of contracted LNG volumes globally by 2030. Eni also said the agreements strengthen Indonesia’s role in supplying LNG to both regional and international markets.
Eni said the deals align with its broader strategy of integrating upstream gas production with LNG infrastructure and international marketing operations. The company has operated in Indonesia since 2001 and currently produces about 90,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day from assets that include the Jangkrik and Merakes offshore fields.
