UptimeAI Launches AI Agents for Root Cause, Maintenance Decisions
UptimeAI has launched AI reasoning agents designed to handle root cause analysis, maintenance optimization and hazard assessment for industrial operations.
(P&GJ) — UptimeAI has launched a suite of AI reasoning agents designed to support real-time operational decisions across root cause analysis, maintenance optimization, process performance and hazard assessment.
Unveiled at CERAWeek by S&P Global, the tools are built to move beyond traditional anomaly detection by diagnosing issues, recommending actions and learning from outcomes.
The four agents target areas that have historically relied on experienced personnel, including root cause diagnosis, maintenance prioritization, process optimization and HAZOP analysis.
“For more than a decade, digital transformation in heavy industry has created a paradox: the more digital tools companies adopted, the more experts they needed,” said Jagadish Gattu, CEO and co-founder of UptimeAI.
Most existing tools, he said, stop at identifying anomalies, leaving operators to interpret data and determine next steps.
“UptimeAI's mission has been to push beyond detection to 24/7 decision support—leveraging AI to perform the analytical work that has traditionally required decades of individual knowledge and experience,” Gattu said. “These four reasoning agents represent years of R&D focused on capturing expert reasoning patterns and making them available at scale. Our customers are already seeing measurable improvements in performance, reliability, and safety, in the range of 2-5% of EBITDA.”
The launch comes as operators across energy, power and chemicals face a growing shortage of experienced workers. UptimeAI said the agents are designed to replicate expert-level decision-making and scale it across assets and teams.
Analyst firm Verdantix described the platform as an “agent-first” approach to asset performance management, with a focus on explainability and reasoning.
“UptimeAI delivers an innovative, agent-first approach to APM underpinned by strong explainability and reasoning chain,” said Jatinder Devgun, Senior Industry Analyst at Verdantix.
The company said the agents are already deployed with operators across oil and gas, power generation and chemicals, with early results showing operational improvements and faster deployment timelines.
