Svanehoj to Supply Tank Gauging Systems for Nigeria LNG Project
Svanehoj will supply tank gauging systems for Nigeria's 3.4-MMtoy PADAH LNG project, providing instrumentation for two 200,000-cubic-meter LNG storage tanks as the country expands its LNG infrastructure.
(P&GJ) — Svanehoj has been selected to supply tank gauging systems for the PADAH LNG project in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, providing instrumentation for two large LNG storage tanks at the planned export facility.
The PADAH LNG development will include a liquefaction plant with a planned capacity of 3.4 million metric tons per annum (MMtpy) and two full-containment LNG storage tanks, each with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters.
The project is being executed under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by China Chengda Engineering Co. Ltd. in partnership with China Chemical Engineering 14th Construction Co. Ltd.
Svanehoj said its tank gauging systems will provide LNG level measurement, density and temperature monitoring, inventory management, rollover monitoring and other functions designed to support safe operation of the storage facilities.
The company will work with Key On Gas (KOG), which will provide local project coordination and regulatory support.
Svanehoj said the project supports Nigeria's efforts to expand LNG infrastructure and make greater use of its natural gas resources while reducing gas flaring.
The contract adds to Svanehoj's growing presence in Africa, where the company has supplied equipment for LNG and LPG infrastructure projects.
"The selection of Svanehoj instrumentation reflects the need for robust, high-precision solutions capable of meeting stringent international requirements in complex LNG environments," the company said.
