Sinopec Unit Wins 279-km Natural Gas Pipeline EPC Contract in China
Sinopec Oilfield Service's construction unit has won a $246 million EPC contract to build a 279-km (173-mile) section of the Heihe-Daqing and Daqing-Changling natural gas pipeline project in China.
(P&GJ) — A wholly owned subsidiary of Sinopec Oilfield Service Corporation has won the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a 279-kilometer (173-mile) section of the Heihe-Daqing and Daqing-Changling natural gas pipeline project in China. The contract is valued at RMB 1.772 billion (about $246 million).
Sinopec Oil Engineering and Construction Corporation will construct approximately 173 miles (279 kilometers) of pipeline under Section I of the project. Construction is expected to take 710 days, according to the company's announcement.
The contract value represents approximately 2.2% of Sinopec Oilfield Service's 2025 operating revenue under Chinese accounting standards. The company said the award reflects market recognition of its experience in long-distance pipeline construction.
"Winning the bid for the Project demonstrates the market's strong recognition of the Company's brand, reputation and expertise in long-distance pipeline construction."
Sinopec cautioned that the contract has not yet been formally executed and remains subject to customary closing procedures and other uncertainties.
