Service Compression Acquires Axip, Boosting Compression Capacity in Key U.S. Basins
Service Compression has acquired Axip Energy Services, expanding its gas compression fleet and Permian footprint. The deal adds capacity and capabilities as demand for compression continues to grow.
(P&GJ) — Service Compression has acquired substantially all assets of Axip Energy Services, expanding its natural gas compression fleet and strengthening its position in key U.S. producing regions, including the Permian Basin.
The transaction adds additional horsepower, customer contracts and operational capabilities, increasing Service Compression’s presence in large-horsepower compression segments used across upstream and midstream operations.
Compression services play a critical role in maintaining flow assurance and supporting production, particularly in high-growth basins where rising gas volumes require additional infrastructure to manage throughput.
The acquisition also brings more than 100 Axip employees into Service Compression, expanding field operations and technical capabilities.
Financial backing for the transaction includes support from Warburg Pincus and an expanded credit facility led by JPMorgan.
The deal reflects continued consolidation in the compression sector as operators scale fleets and capabilities to meet growing demand tied to U.S. production and infrastructure constraints.
