Baker Hughes Wins Major LNG Equipment Award for QatarEnergy Mega Trains

Baker Hughes has secured a major LNG equipment award from QatarEnergy, supplying compressors, turbines and power systems for two new LNG mega trains.

(P&GJ) — Baker Hughes has secured a major LNG equipment award from QatarEnergy LNG to supply critical turbomachinery and power systems for two new LNG “mega trains” as part of the North Field West expansion.

The scope includes main refrigerant compressor trains and associated power generation systems, a key component in large-scale LNG production.

Baker Hughes will provide six Frame 9 gas turbines and 12 centrifugal compressors, along with integrated power systems that include three Frame 6 gas turbines and three electric generators.

The equipment will support LNG processing at the new trains, which are part of QatarEnergy’s broader effort to expand production capacity from the North Field, one of the world’s largest gas reserves.

The award reflects continued demand for high-capacity LNG infrastructure and advanced compression systems as global LNG projects scale up to meet rising demand.
