Con Edison of New York Names New President
Con Edison Co. of New York, Inc., a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., has named Timothy P. Cawley president. Cawley replaces Craig Ivey, who retired after eight years as president of the company.
“Tim is a proven leader in safety and reliability, with expertise in our operations and an unwavering focus on customer service,” said John McAvoy, chairman and CEO of Con Edison Inc., the parent company of Con Edison of New York. “He also maintains a strong focus on clean energy solutions, including energy efficiency and renewable power sources.”
Before being named president of Con Edison Co. of New York, Cawley served as president and chief executive of Orange and Rockland Utilities, another subsidiary of Con Edison Inc.
Previously, Cawley served as Con Edison’s senior vice president of Central Operations. His responsibilities included the planning, design, operation and maintenance of the electric transmission system, as well as the company’s primary control center and electric substations. He was also responsible for electric and steam generating plants, the steam system, and engineering and construction activities.
During his tenure at Con Edison Co. of New York, which began in 1987, Cawley has also served as vice president of Substation Operations, vice president of Bronx and Westchester Electric Operations, general manager of Transmission Operations and director of Gas Operations at Orange and Rockland Utilities.
Cawley holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Union College.
