Buckeye Partners will move forward with the second phase of the Michigan/Ohio Pipeline expansion following a successful open season for transportation of refined petroleum products from origin points in Woodhaven and Detroit, MI; Toledo, Findlay and Lima, OH, and Midland, PN. Buckeye plans to reverse a portion of its existing Laurel pipeline to allow refined petroleum products to flow from Pittsburgh to central Pennsylvania. Rangeland Energy Brings RIO Pipeline into Service

Rangeland Energy has brought the 110-mile, 12-inch RIO Pipeline into commercial service transportation of crude oil and condensate to market from the Delaware Basin. The 125,000 bpd pipeline originates at the RIO State Line Terminal in Loving County, TX, a gathering hub at the Texas-New Mexico border in the heart of the Delaware Basin with tankage and truck unloading facilities. South Korean Company Pays $21 Million to Fake Aramco

After making a $21-million wire payment to a fraudulent company account claiming to be that of Saudi Aramco, South Korea’s largest petrochemical company, LG Chem, is now seeking a full investigation and state assistance to recover its loss. The $21-million payment was destined for Saudi Aramco, which is LG Chem’s supplier in Saudi Arabia of naphtha, the refined oil product used to make plastics and other petrochemical items. The payment was for supplies received in the second half of March. “We have requested an investigation by prosecutors,” said Song Choong-seop, a spokesman for LG Chem. […]

Pembina Pipeline Gains Regulatory OK for Phase III Expansion

Calgary-based Pembina Pipeline received approval from the Alberta Energy Regulator for the construction of two 270-km, 24- and 16-inch pipelines between Fox Creek and Namao. The project is part of the company’s Phase 3 Expansions. Once complete, Pembina will have four pipelines in the Fox Creek-to-Namao corridor, with an initial total design capacity across the company’s Peace and Northern systems of about 900,000 bpd. Through the addition of pump stations capacity could reach about 1.2 MMbpd, the company said.
