Design-Build Proves Effective On Florida HDD Project

In April, the Mears Group, Inc. completed a design-build project in Jacksonville, FL to allow a regional energy producer to expand its natural gas pipeline to serve new facilities.

To complete the project, Mears drilled a 7,400-foot pilot hole at a depth of 130 feet beneath the St. John’s River bottom to install a 16-inch steel pipe.

Wärtsilä Opens New Workshop In Taranto, Italy

Wärtsilä Corporation recently announced that it had increased its range of engineering services available in Italy with the opening of a new workshop in Taranto, an important commercial and military hub in the Puglia region of Southern Italy. Relocation to the new, much larger facility provides a more suitable base from which to develop its offering in the region.
