Inpex Restores Typhoon-Damaged Gas Pipelines in Japan
(P&GJ) — Inpex Corp. has completed restoration work on its natural gas trunk pipeline network in Japan, addressing damage caused by Typhoon Hagibis in October 2019.

The project, undertaken by its subsidiary Inpex Japan Ltd., involved repairing and reconnecting sections of the Tokyo and Matsumoto lines that were damaged by flooding. Work also included upgrades to connecting stations along both pipelines.
“The restoration enhances the resilience and flexibility of our natural gas pipeline network, ensuring a stable supply for customers,” Inpex stated.
The company originally reported the damage and restoration details in 2019 and 2021 on its website. The completed work is part of Inpex’s broader effort to strengthen its energy infrastructure and provide reliable natural gas access while prioritizing safety.
