Sapphire, Tulip Compression to Deploy Clean Energy Tech in India’s Gas Sector
(P&GJ) — Sapphire Technologies has partnered with Tulip Compression Private Limited (TCPL) to expand its clean energy technology in India’s natural gas sector. The collaboration will bring Sapphire’s FreeSpin In-line Turboexpander (FIT) technology to pressure regulation stations across the country, aiming to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
India’s natural gas infrastructure spans over 24,000 kilometers (14,913 miles) of pipelines, supporting industrial growth. With plans to deploy more than 150 FIT systems, the companies estimate a potential reduction of 300,000 metric tons of CO2e annually.
“Partnering with Tulip Compression Private Limited is an exciting milestone as we expand into one of the world’s most dynamic energy markets,” said Freddie Sarhan, CEO of Sapphire Technologies. “India’s growing natural gas sector offers immense opportunities to deploy FIT technology, addressing inefficiencies while driving sustainability and economic growth.”
Rajkumar Sachdeva, Director of Tulip Compression Private Limited, emphasized the cost savings and efficiency gains of the technology. “Deploying state-of-the-art FIT technology in the Indian market for energy recovery shall significantly contribute to cost efficiency across the ecosystem,” he said. “This partnership marks a pivotal moment for the industry, as we integrate innovative solutions to meet India’s clean energy aspirations.”
The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, reduce carbon emissions, and create new revenue streams for gas companies. It could also support job creation and broader clean energy adoption. Looking ahead, Sapphire and TCPL plan to expand the partnership into other South Asian markets.
