(P&GJ) — Cheniere Energy conducted a binding open season earlier this year for approximately 930,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of incremental firm transportation capacity on its Creole Trail Pipeline (CTPL), tied to the company’s planned Sabine Pass LNG expansion project (SPARC) in Louisiana.

The open season, which closed in May, represented a key commercial step to support additional feedgas supply for Sabine Pass, the largest U.S. LNG export facility.

Cheniere said the proposed pipeline expansion is designed to address growing market demand as U.S. LNG developers work to bring new capacity online in a competitive global environment. The company noted that binding commitments secured through the open season would help reinforce the U.S.’s role as the world’s top LNG exporter.

The Creole Trail Pipeline already provides critical service to Sabine Pass, and the expansion would ensure reliable delivery to support the facility’s next phase of growth.
